popular Palo Alto meet in ia new location. Over 400 quirky, classic &
thoroughly lovable British cars are once again expected to grace the lawn and

great display of automotive oddities provided by the Arcane Auto Society.

b"  SUNDAY SHOW - SEPTEMBER 7th
Join your British car friends for a smashing day at the Marina. Don't have a
show car?  Don't worry! Daily drivers, vintage racers, street rods and
works-in-progress are as welcome as Concours quality show cars.  British food,
jazz, & more fun than you'll be able to tolerate!  Awards in many classes.
There will be no preregistration - all entrants will receive a commemorative
gift. Cars will be placed at 9:00AM and the fun goes on all day. The
registration fee is still $25 per car at the gate.

The British Car Meet TOUR TO THE SEA starts at the Sierra Point Marina
boathouse (the same place as the Sunday Car Show) and winds through the hills
to the sea. Itbs no-cost option for people who like to drive their cars as
well as show them.  We will be sending cars off between 9:00AM and 10:30AM.  A
map will be provided. The tour ends at Cameron's Pub in Half Moon Bay where we
will be kicking tyres and telling tall tales in the car park well into the
afternoon.

The Brisbane Marina is lacated just east of the Bayshore Freeway (101) between
San Francisco and the SF Airport/Highway 380. Just  take the Sierra Point Exit
and follow the signs to the Marina. Trailer parking will be available on-site.

This is an all original 1948 MGTC. The car has never been restored, has had fix its and repairs, runs well, cries out for a total restoration, not something I want to tackle. Engine is a BMC "goldstar" replacement, probably from the 1960s era so engine # does not match ID plate. Engine is an authentic XPAG. Side curtains will need new fabric and windows, frames are ok. Top is ok. I've been driving the car in summers for last two years. Tires are good, wheels are chrome, some pitting. Seats are covered in maroon vinyl, good shape. Needs new door hinges, have a replacement generator w/ tach drive. Price very fair and very firm. Don't even....Contact via e-mail.. for info.

I did not recomend it - just posted it as a FYI - buyer beware - They are not all scams - I just placed a decent $9,000 '49 Triumph 2000 roadster that I saw on Craigslist to a delighted buyer who was visiting SoCal from Alabama - yes I know that these things can be scams but often are not - 

If I am going to be made liable for passing on a email posting from a public list, I might as well give up this hobby completely, buy a Toyota and take up golf. So should you ...............

And as an afterthought - f*ck the lawyers - they have made automotive events almost impossible to put on and are after our cars at a state level with proposed legislation that we will someday have to drag our "collector cars" to meets on trailers behind our hybirds!

Not necessarily a scam.  The price on these have been coming down  lately by 
my observations.  I just saw a nicely restored TD go on ebay for  
$13,000....it was a home restoration, and was missing the side curtains, but the  pictures 
looked pretty good.
 
A member on another list has a nearly completed restoration (engine in  
pieces) he's only asking half that much.
 
These cars are getting to the point poor fat boys like me can consider  
buying one.

  It's been beyond my belief how all of you have and are supporting me in my temporary illness.  All your good wishes and your most welcome cash contributions sent though Pete Shull to me.   The Drs, diagnoses as to Multiple Myaloma is accurate and the medications they have prescribed are seemingly right on target for the ailment.  The visits to the Oncology group are now starting to be further apart and I'm also starting to be out of bed more hours a day.  I'm still pretty weak, but starting to do some work a couple times a week at my bench.  Yes, I'm still shipping the 5 speed kits, so they are now going out the door OK.  I'm staying at my GF's house about 50 miles away so I'm only getting messages off my machine and the computer.  For the most part, I'm getting on back to them, so keep in contact.
   
  If I have missed any groups with this message, feel free to forward it on to them.
   
  Your support has really overwhelmed me and I'm not sure how I can ever repay all of you for it.  It has been more than I've ever expected it to be.
   
  You need to focus a bit on Pete Shull now.  He's not feeling well from his recent bout with arthritis and chest pains.  He has labored for me, now I think it's time to let him know how you feel about him.  He's done a Herculean job, all the while he has felt a lot less than well.
