[Mini] Experience of plasma cutters?

Hi Listers!

I have some panels to cut out of plate steel to form the sides of a support
for a gear change mechanism (project inboard shifter!)

Now the design I want to emulate is that of the KAD inboard kit

Have any of you used a plasma cutter for light work (<5mm)?
