Are you the owner of a Mini Cooper convertible?

We are investigating a series of arsons where soft-top Mini Coopers have
been set alight.

Nine Mini’s have been set alight in Southampton since November 21. Cars
have been targeted in Randolph Street, Hanley Road, Janson Road, Hinkler
Road, Deacon Road, Downside Avenue, South East Road, River Walk and Belmont
Road. The last incident happening on Belmont Road on January 5.

We are looking for a man that drives a silver or grey coloured Peugeot 307
estate car who has been seen near the scenes of these arsons.

We suggest you consider taking precautions to prevent your Mini Cooper soft
top from being subject to such an incident.

• Install CCTV to overlook your vehicle, if this is not possible a dummy
camera may act as a deterrent along with a notice in the window that the
vehicle is covered by CCTV, however good CCTV is recommended.
• Consider fitting an alarm to your vehicle with clear warning stickers
alerting persons that an alarm is fitted.
• Alert your neighbours and request they be extra vigilant as to anyone who
may be paying attention to your vehicle.
• Call 999 immediately if your vehicle is targeted.
