[Mini] MadTech? Using the husk of a CANBUS ODBC system to deliver high-tech data in a 1982 Mini

This is what Scott Beavis would have wanted.....

I am using an Android app and a bluetooth adaptor plugged into the ODBC
adaptor of my Honda 1.25l runabout, it is relaying a vast quantity of
information about the operational parameters of the car

If you had a scrap car that ran a suitable CANBUS ODBC compatible system,
could you connect up the temperature and pressure sensors and not the
engine and power the system up to deliver the data over the 'bus?????

You would ignore the signal that can back from the dead side of the loom
(not connected) ...... but use all the others
