I?m pretty sure they used small roundhead Phillips screws. That?s what is used on early MGBs.<br>
<br>
They didn?t rivet the VIN tag until it became a Federal requirement in January 1969.<br>
<br>
This image shows the type of screw used in 66-67, at least (although I believe this VIN tag is actually a fake, but that?s neither here nor there).<br>
