Tank filler neck is curved and of large diameter.</div><div dir="ltr"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>My calibration efforts, that have worked out well, were to carry a spare can of fuel along, then running the tank dry, and noting gauge position. Then, fill to top and note again. </div><div dir="ltr"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>Rick Astley’s book describes calibration of the gauge, but even when adjusted it can not be considered a precise instrument. Even though I now trust my gauge, I reset the trip odometer to 000 then plan to fill when it nears 225 miles.
