<div dir="ltr">Subject was Threadlocker...<div><br></div><div>A couple years ago I needed a gas tank for a 1988 Jaguar XJ6 or XJ40 depending on which side of the pond you are on. I found one in a "you pick it" scrap yard but they are required by law to poke holes in them and not allowed to resell a gas tank. I was able to buy the tank by purchasing the "fuel filler neck and gas cap". The receipt did not say the tank was attached. It was murder getting the tank out of that car, and torture putting the tank back into my car. I have never had a cover deteriorate that fast. But they will eventually break down in sunlight. Also, the cotton covers will collect dust which slowly works its way through the weave onto your car. So even if the cover isn?t creating powder, the car still will get dusty.<br>

They make silver reflective covers that are more sun resistant than the soft cotton ones, and which don?t let dust settle through. Regardless, you will be surprised how dirty the car looks when you take the cover off.<br>

LOL, this is true! I've been working on cleaning up the garage since my<br>
'76B has been in the shop, and came across some parts for it that I'd been<br>
holding on to for some reason, for years. Yesterday, I advertised a couple<br>
of Rostyles, an OEM jack, an oil pan and an exhaust downpipe. Guy contacted<br>
me about the down pipe and asked whether I had the catalytic converter. I<br>
did, but didn't advertise it as I understand that you're not supposed to<br>
sell used cats. It was actually in a garbage bag in preparation for getting<br>
tossed with the other trash Friday morning. He didn't want the pipe but I<br>
sold him the catcon!<br>
