As Larry suggests, if you are doing both cylinders, it may be easier to remove the whole box as a unit. But I have recently replaced the clutch cylinder on its own on my driver.<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><div class="">If you do pull the box, make sure you get new gaskets for it and the cover, to avoid engine compartment heat leaks into the footwell.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I installed both cylinders and the box as a unit on my new project, and that is definitely simpler. I thought about changing to a dual circuit system, but decided against it. I’ve not done this job on the MGB (1967 GT, single circuit) before and I’m not quite sure how to proceed. The workshop manual just says to disengage the pedals, disconnect the pipes, and remove the fixing bolts. The space around the hydraulic lines and the cylinder fixing bolts is very tight and I’m having trouble making my arthritic hands work in there.
