lot cheaper. lever shocks can be made to perform as well as tube shocks by
adjusting the oil and the damper valve. before I replaced mine, which
could hold oil for maybe a mile, I put in gear oil (90 wt) just for grins.

don’t think there is anything wrong with tube shock conversions, but I wouldn’t
expect any massive improvement, either.

<DIV>I went with a telescopic shock conversion 25 years ago, but that was
because it was half the cost of new Armstrong dampers. I do not believe that is
the case at present. My new project is getting lever shocks as Abingdon
intended.</DIV>
