clutch cover springs (that grip the friction plate between pressure plate and
flywheel and so give drive) that push the release arm back and the push-rod and
piston into the slave cylinder as you release the pedal. Maybe someone has
fitted a pull-off spring to the release arm to protect the release bearing, or
maybe the MGA has one anyway.</span></div>

then the release bearing or something associated with it has broken, and the

<div>As I push the pedal in and out there is no resistance and the slave moves
in and out freely. (I thought at first I lost hydraulics) </div>
