Car has an early 5 main mgb engine, an electric tach

Finally got the tach in from West Valley and so I was able to mount the ignition warning light in the tach with the ground firmly attached.  It hung loose before, but wasn't grounded so I have no idea how old this problem is.

Ignition warning light is on solid as soon as the key is turned, before I even start the engine.  Does not go off

Looking for trouble shooting steps/directions.  Car starts, runs, charges the battery, so I'm not sure what that light is telling me.
