The manifolds and carburettors have been switched out. This manifold came from a later, pollution equipped car. Bad choice on my part but at the time I didn't know better As you can see, there is crank case ventilation going on. I need to stop this hole. The bolt in the hose will work for now but I need a prettier permanent solution. -----Original Message----- From: Larry Colen Sent: Monday, September 8, 2025 12:53 PM To: dave northrup Cc: mgs at autox.team.net Subject: Re: [Mgs] How to block this orifice Isn't that crankcase ventilation? Dorman sells rubber caps (5/8", 3/4", maybe others), and might have one that could be slipped over the end and secured with a hose clamp. I found a few at Summit Racing, sold as cooling bypass caps. Plan B might be to cut off the flared bit and find a cap that fits that part tightly. Plan C would be cutting the fitting at the manifold, threading the hole, and using a tapered plumbing plug. Can be twisted out. Take it out and tap the hole. I'd use a BSPP tap. A BSPP plug which takes a copper washer can be used to make a professional looking job. If the manifold is on the engine fill the tap with grease to catch the chips. More work, nice looking fix.
