I'd probably do a compression check first to make sure it is acceptable.

Then I'd go through the carbs.

I have a 72 mgb which runs and drives quite nicely.  After sitting
overnight, I have to use starter fluid to start it.  just full choke doesn't
do it.

 

After that, no problems.  Turn it off, back on, no problems.  Not sure how
long it has to sit to exhibit this issue.

 

Timing looks ok, carbs in decent shape and recently tuned, relatively new
spark plugs, etc.

 

Where should I look?
