[Mgs] pulling engine MGA

59 MGA with early 5 main MGB engine and MGA trans

See the picture?  The steering rod is too stiff to get out of the way.  I would rather remove that steering rod than the carbs/exhaust manifold.  Any hints on how to do that?

I'm headed over to Barney's site to see if its there somewhere.  If someone can send me the link that would be helpful.
