Definitely a Studebaker, one of the Raymond Lowey designs, 1953 or so.
This is the two-door sedan, not the hard-top, which is pillarless.
A friend’s dad owned one of the Bill Frick Studillac (sp?) conversions, a coupe with the Cadillac engine conversion and massive Traction-Master bars on rear springs. Black, with tan padded vinyl top and tan interior, it was elegant. It had the hill-holder device that prevented rolling back on hills, a very nice feature. Mr Nader would not have approved of its row of toggle switches across the engine-turned dash.
