[Mgs] FW: new acquisition

I guess I passed the test.  Turned the engine until the timing mark lined up, completely rearranged the spark wires, and unstuck the carb piston.  Ran it twice for about 15 seconds each using just starter fluid.  Smelled like varnish!  Gas gage reads empty; I’ll get some gas, gas cleaner, and see if I can get it to idle.  Got a few small things to iron out and with a little luck I’ll be driving it.  my favorite so far:  both battery cables are black.  I do NOT like that.  On the list of things to fix.

 

Big question – I have one of those remote starter things.  I can see where to hook it up on the starter.  Other than running a long lead back to the battery, is there a place where I can hook it up inside the engine compartment?  I’m guessing the fuse box?  Any recommendations?

Its very clean.  Door has the crack of doom, and the paint has a ton of chips, but otherwise looks solid.  

 

I figure this is my mechanics test – to see if I can get it running!
