Correct, and there should still be another white/black from the coil -ve to the tach to operate that.

White/brown, white/black, not that much difference as far as getting mixed up on old wiring goes.

  Jack, You just answered you own question. If you have installed a electronic ignition the you do not need the white/blk wire that went to the points contact on the side of the Distb.
