Our 1969 MGC is Pale Primrose, and it is most definitely much more yellow than ivory – but not a garish yellow.

Just as a basis for discussion, the difference between Old English White and Pale Primrose is fairly subtle. My current project was OEW with the left front subframe welded on from a Pale Primrose car, and except where they met up, it wasn’t glaringly obvious. PP is a very very pale yellow, verging on ivory.

But really, there are only two colors you can paint a car: the original color, and everything else constitutes a color change, whether it’s a period factory option or metalflake purple with pearl.

FWIW, my project got painted British Racing Green. I had no desire to drive a white or yellow car.
