[Mgs] MGA heat and sound insulation

Foil faced insulati0n is goof for reflecting
radiant energy. The foil cannot reflect anything
unless it is exposed in open space facing the
heat source. Foil under carpet does nothing.

Weight of the material will supress vibration of
sheet metal to reduce noise, but does almost
nothing for noise on plywood floorboards.

Air space trapped within the insulation supresses
heat transfer. To that end, thicker material can
be better thermal insulation. All of the items
you have highlighted appear to be fairly thin.

I rather like the low cost "Space Age Insulation"
I have bought from JC Whitney. See here:

I thought that Moss sold something similar (maybe
the same stuff) but I haven't checked there
recently. This is 3/8-inch thick felt/rag
material with reinforced foil on one side. Good
value for the money if you want to supress heat flow.
