All true Dan. I buy the twin box set of gloves at Sam's. I also buy the
nitrile gloves at Harbor Freight, for jobs involving nastier solvents. The
latex fails pretty quickly when wetted with chemicals.

There are a few points I'd like to throw into this thread:

1. One's skin is the body's largest organ...and its permeable. Things on
your hands get into your body. Transdermal is the name of the process.
Gloves are good.

2. Many of us do car work in short bursts. That is, we pull spanners when
we find 20 minutes here or there, as opposed to those fun all-day
Saturdays. Gloves, be they latex or nitrile, allow fast cleanup. Yes, one's
hands get wet with sweat but strip the gloves and wash with regular soap
and water, and one's hands and nails are wife-inspection presentable!

3. When I have 30 minutes free to work on something, I don't want to spend
half of that time cleaning my hands. I'll gladly pay the fifteen cents for
a pair of gloves to save 15 minutes!
