Let me suggest this one more time.  Try another torque wrench.  You 
seem like a nice guy.  Don't you have any friends?  Invite someone 
over for a beer and a "torque off".  I'm in NY and if you're anywhere 
near me, I'll volunteer.  Find a club.  Go introduce yourself to that 
guy you always see working on his muscle car.  I think we're near the 
limit on what we can do over the internet.  Time for actual human 
contact.  You can do it!  :-)
