A simpler and more acurate formula is:
Take whatever unit of measure you used the first time and raise it to the
next unit, then double it. In other words, if you estimate 5 minutes, the
real time is 10 hours, one hour really takes two days, etc..

The best formula for calculating time needed for a particular job is as
follows:
The first 90% of the job takes 90% of the time
The last 10% of the job takes another 90% of the time.
