[Mgs] SU-HIF Problem

Greetings MG'ers,
 
I have gas flowing from the valve cover vent pipe of my  front carburetor 
(SU-HIF).  Is this the float needle valve failing to  seal?  Can I fix 
without rebuilding the carb?
