[Mgs] MGB LE

Oliver,

Yes, there is one way to tell if it was an original (North American) LE.
All black cars in 79 and 80 were LEs and all LEs were black. If the car was
originally black, you have a winner.

I'm not quite sure why anybody would go to the time, trouble and expense of
faking an LE as they aren't really worth much more, if any, that any other
79 or 80 MGB. I like them because I think black is the only color that
looks OK with those monstrosities they call bumpers and the extra bits are
not unattractive. It certainly would not pay to buy all the pieces to
convert a non-LE.

Good luck on the LE,

Larry Daniels

79 LE (a real one)

hi.

i'm going to look at an LE either today or tomorrow. i've got clausinger's
book Original MGB ... but it doesn't clearly state how to identify a real
LE
from one that's been "built."

most of the LE stuff is available after market; is there a clearly
identifiable way to tell?

thanks!
