Ed, thanks for the response. Is there a gap between the rubber bushings on your set-up?

And yes, there is a ground strap, connected thusly -

Dan,

I can answer the question about the upper bracket because I just suffered 
through replacing the rear transmission mount 2 weeks ago: You are correct, 
the "tabs" go toward the rear of the car. The "flat" goes to the front. The 
lower bracket's orientation will be obvious, once the upper bracket is 
positioned.

P.S. A question: is there a ground strap on the rear mount of your car? If 
so, how is it connected.
