[Mgs] Pertronix and overheating in MGA

Listers,
The Pertronix instructions infer that the ignition timing should be
reset after installation of the Ignitor. This was not done, as the
sales pitch is that the Ignitor is a direct (and immediately
reversible) replacement, and it is not obvious how replacing points
can advance the ignition. The engine is not pinging, but it does idle
faster, and there is now an overheating tendency on warmer days. Does
anyone have any experience with the Ignitor in this regard? The car is
a 1600 MGA 1960.
TIA
Dave Houser
