Paul,

Given the recent discussion of the removal of zinc from oils, I am not
sure that the handbook recommendations are valid anymore (at least for
a car that is out of warranty). It seems that some manufacturers have
chosen to offer oils that don't comply with the latest specs and thus
will not match the handbook recommendations, nevertheless, they should
be better for the engine (although perhaps not for the catalytic
converter).
