[Mgs] oil question

This might be a dumb question but I am sure some of you can relate. How
can you tell if a car is using synthetic oil as opposed to the real
stuff?



My wife wants me to change the oil in her Volvo S60. The oil on the
dipstick looks a bit different (maybe a bit more brown-red) but then I
am used to doing oil in old cars. But then I have to wonder how they
tell the type of oil at those oil change places. Or do they even care?
