Drain and refill maybe.  I do top-up my gearboxes occasionally, certainly 
wouldn't buy a special oil, particularly when Abingdon say to use engine 
oil.  For that reason I wouldn't use anything other than engine oil even for 
a drain and refill.  It's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
