Ok...  I don't know anything about your hobby, but I have enjoyed the
merits of HAMs in the past and I give a little smile to the locals
with the HAM license plates on their cars.  In MD you can get your
number plate with your HAM ID and "Amateur Radio Operator" written
under it.

Beyond the merits of just playing with electronics, what's the big
deal?  I don't know enough to see the purpose of it all.  Help a
brother out.
