In both cases they're just shortcuts to where the programs are stored on your PC -- they'll only consume system resources when you execute them. The things you have set up to start every time you start your PC -- things that show up in the bottom right "system tray" are programs that are running in the background so those do consume resources. -----Original Message----- From: mgb-v8-bounces at autox.team.net [mailto:mgb-v8-bounces at autox.team.net] On Behalf Of Barrie Robinson Sent: Thursday, July 02, 2009 8:47 AM To: mgb-v8 at autox.team.net; mgs at autox.team.net Subject: [Mgb-v8] OFF TOPIC - COMPUTERS Experience from the past shows that the list has some pretty savvy computer exponents so I ask the question. Champion RJ12YC Champion RN12YC Champion RN11YC So which is best for my 3.5L Rover V8 with Delco-Petronix, Flamethrower 40001coil, 10:1 pistons and mild cam ? No one seems to mention anything other than Champion !!! Incidentally I put the question to RPi in the UK (who supplied my engine) but they can only talk about the ignition parts they sell. Seems as if they have given up being Rover V8 experts and become a Rover V8 sales place - pity! After having three Champions break the insulators when removing them for a service check, the first I had broken in 30 years or so, I've never bought them again. These were the first I had seen with flat faces and sharp angles to the ribs on the insulator in place of the usual rounded shape. They all cracked at a rib, and I suspect the sharp angles had something to do with it. Roger Parker states for V8 conversions "Up to the SD1 they were the original short-reach units, with later engines using the now standard long reach versions, the same as any 'A' or 'B' series engine". Rimmer http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/rimmer/rover/v8engine/ignition#Plug Leads & Spark Plugs quotes a whole series of GSP numbers by year and vehicle and confirms the reach statement above. I know others have strongly held opinions on the issue, with great certainly that one brand is best, but in my case careful record keeping indicates otherwise. These T5 transmissions work great. Or you could opt for a t56 six speed (D&D will modify your bell housing to fit) Sent from Bill's iPhone!
