I bought both the metal strips and the rubber inserts, though it was just the rubber I used after polishing the original metal strips. As yours, the rubber strips were not tapered at the ends to fit. I carved a little rubber out from underneath in a V shape, and tapered the very end only slightly. Rubber fits in securely and has stayed in place for a year.Bob

Hi Gang,
The Moss-supplied rubber inserts for my TD's running board treads are not cut to fit. Rather, they are just strips of rubber. That means they don't fit the tapered ends of the metal strips. I have found that cutting the ends to fit results in pretty ugly results.
What have you done to install these treads handsomely?
