[Mg-t] carb question

They are interchangeable.
There is a bracket, on the rear carb, of the TC, for holding the
starter cable, and choke cable, that was replaced by a combination
link and bracket, for the TD.
Shaft connections for early TC were pins. Later, they went to clamps,
as with the TD.
Slow running control, or idle increase is manual with the TC, as well
as early TD. For the TC, they had a control, at the dash, for increasing
the idle manually, while choking the car to start. They eliminated
this with
the TD. Very early TD carbs do not have a provision to increase idle
speed,
or slightly open butterfly on the front carb, that would also open
the rear carb,
since they are connected at the throttle shafts.
Later, in TD carb production, they added a fast idle link rod, that
was operated
when the choke was engaged, on the front carb. The front jet lever,
has a hole,
that the fast idle link rod fits into. A pivot lever, mounted on the
side of the front
carb., is the other connection point of the link rod. When the choke
is engaged,
the link rod moves the pivot lever, and the idle speed is increased.
