     I  use  fixed-length  straps  at the front - two that loop over the
     axle  -  and  two  ratchet  type at the rear in line with the outer
     sides  of the rear wheels, and attach same with small loops of soft
     nylon  rope (I use sailboat line material 3/4 to 1" diam) that loop
     over  the knockoffs.... take up the slack with the ratchets and set
     the brakes. No X's.
     #2 I am thinking about installing the Sport and Vintage close ratio
     gear set
     in  my  PA.  tranny.  I have heard from Chris Leydon who did it and
     that he
     loves  it  but  wanted  to  see  if any other MMM'ers have made the
     conversion
     and get some input.
     #3  And  most  important,  suggestions  on  how  to sell my wife on
     conversion!
     How  she  will  LOVE  the  old gear set... book ends, canoe anchor,
     white elphant bridge group prize??
