From david at infinitefx.com Thu May 2 18:54:10 2024 From: david at infinitefx.com (David Gilbert) Date: Thu, 2 May 2024 20:54:10 -0400 Subject: [Lhbcc] LHBCC May Meeting Notes Message-ID: Hello LHBCC members, Quick update!! The EWTC (Vo-Tech School) car show in Latrobe scheduled for Saturday (May 4) has been cancelled and moved to Saturday June 1. Please make note of that in your calendars. Thank you to everyone who came to the meeting last night. It was a beautiful evening and many people brought out the ?fun? cars. Some awesome pieces of machinery there, some new to members and many members got to see for the first time. It was great to be able to walk around outside, chat about cars, ask questions, tips, advice, etc. One business item that was brought up? a motion by Donald Gilbert, and seconded by Bill Greenberg, was to amend the by-laws to read that an individual may hold the title and responsibilities of more than one office, however no fewer than 2 individuals will be office-holders. What this means is that, if voted for, the offices and responsibilities of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, could be held by a minimum of 2 individuals. One person could technically be President and Treasurer, and the other could be VP and Secretary (or other combinations). This motion will be voted on at the June meeting, scheduled for 7pm on Wednesday June 5 at Four Seasons Brewery in Latrobe. If you feel strongly in favor of, or against, this potential change to the by-laws, we encourage you to attend that meeting in order to discuss and vote on this matter. We?ll do our best to keep everyone updated on local car shows and cruises. While this Saturday?s car show has been rescheduled, don?t forget the weekly (on Thursdays) Lamplighter cruise in Delmont. Send an email to the group if you want to go some week. Thanks, and hope to see everyone on the road, and at our next meeting. My plan is to depart Ligonier at approximately 7:30 am in order to arrive in Carlisle by 10:00 am. I would like to stay until about 6:30 pm, which includes time for dinner somewhere in Carlisle. (David is staying at a hotel in town that has a nice restaurant). Arrival back in Ligonier would be about 9:00 pm. Alterations could include... RAIN... if it is raining and ugly, I might return early and skip dinner. If someone really wants to go, but needs a slightly different time adjustment. So if you are interested in going along with me to IMPORT Carlisle, please CALL ME at 724-433-9119. I don't always check email, so again... CALL ME !!! Thanks to those who came out on Sunday to Four Seasons Brewery for the car show. It was a beautiful day (a bit hotter than I would like) and there were some cool cars there. I hope I don?t leave anyone out, but Bill, Sean, Donnie, Ted & Cathy, Ken, and myself & my wife & kids were all there. Reminder that there is a car show at Jennerstown Speedway this Friday (May 24) starting at 4pm. I went 2 years ago and this is a big show, and always a lot of fun. This Friday is also the EC Cruisers car show at 814 Lanes and Games (the old Shop ?n Save on Route 136 heading toward Hempfield High School) starting at 5pm. Looking ahead, Wednesday June 5 will be our next monthly meeting at Four Seasons in Latrobe. Hope to see you all there! I will be hitting the 814 show on Friday, we all know why lol. We were given a tour of the meeting rooms available and found them suitable for the club. Next month's meeting (June 5th) will go on as scheduled at Four Seasons, but stay tuned for a possible change in location for July. Thought is to try our club meeting elsewhere to do away with some of the background noise at Four Seasons as well as try a spot that may be more location friendly for some of our club members who we haven't seen in a few months. -- Ken Patterson 724-212-9465
