At idle the springs on the closing valves trade energy with the opening valves
. The higher the RPM the less that happens so the torque to turn the cam
increases .B B B

Subject: [Land-speed] Odd Ball Motor Question

Anyone have a link to data that shows how much hp or torque is used to turn
a camshaft during motor operation? Over the full RPM range? B Typical is what
I am looking for, say a chubby 350 or LS! Or similar. B All I am after is a
broad number knowing full well that roller rockers, roller lifters, berserk
springs, bearings, etc play a role. Just looking for a broad brush number.
