JD -- This area remains a little muddy, especially with respect to sports 
cars.  I still haven't got in my head exactly what Mayf is considering to do 
with his windshield design.  In a way it can be viewed as a bit of a clash 
between safety considerations and classification rules.
I don't know whether Mayf's Sunbeam is an open car or not.  Nor do I know 
whether it's a roadster or not.  Nor who gets to say which.
I guess this all falls in Jon Meyer's (GT/Modified Sports Chair) area.  And 
maybe the technical guys when viewed as a driver safety issue.
One thing that has always seemed clear to me is that an "open" car is one 
that conforms to pg 45 section 4V.  But to me the question is whether Mayf's 
car is a modified sports and what can he do to the windshield and still be 
in conformance with that classification?
No matter what he still has to be able to get out of the car pretty quick.
