[Land-speed] ???? Seems to be very Quiet..

Maybe a dull subject, but has anyone here had any recent experience with the 
new LS3 crate engine?  Like for an everyday driver sometimes moderate duty 
(3000lb) trailer puller?  Also can you put a "vin ordinaire" tranny like a 
Turbo 350 or a 700R4 behind it?   Or does the engine computer have to have a 
tranny that talks back?  I just can't seem to warm up to anything the 
dealers are offering these days and my little green Toyota is just not up to 
the job anymore.
