Wes. What used to be mud flats and farm land is all gone. The drag strip
land has been converted to very large auto mall. All other land from there
to the estuary (except the decommissioned land fill) is developed industrial
property. Every spec of land from there to San Jose is now developed (on
both sides of the freeway) with either shopping malls or industrial parks.
Silicon Valley Industry has overflowed to Fremont due to the "relatively"
lower cost of square footage compared to across the bay. You got out in time
:-)

(snip . . ) We used to go over the Dunbarton Bridge to the Fremont Drag
Strip from Menlo Park. I had my first glider ride at the airport next to
the strip. I think that area and the farmland around it is all high $$$
housing today.
