Amen to that!

Early Porsche 911s are notorious for backfiring into their intake plenum
when started cold. The plenum is made of PLASTIC and it explodes, making an
expen$ive "bang". Popoff valves were added to later versions.

Air/fuel in the plenum can get exciting if you have a backfire.
