Sounds like everything went well with the surgery.  His arthritis had really
been a problem with that knee and supposedly they took care of that
before inserting the new joint.  He's hoping to be home by Friday, in home
therapy for a couple of weeks then go to rehab clinic for further exercise 
and physical therapy as an outpatient.  He said there was no visible 
phone in the room so he was on his cell.

He did say the nurses were quite young ... draw your own conclusions!
