Dave;

In the U.S.the amount of energy (in the form of oil) that we use for
transportation (all types) is about three times the amount of energy (all 
types of fuel) that we
use to generate electricity.

So using electrolytic hydrogen for transportation would require an enourmous 
number of new big
electric utility power plants--solar and wind power are insignificant by
comparison.
