Crane is the only company I know that makes a steel gear that will not wear  
out on a 8620 steel billet roller cam, I've used many of them. Comp makes a  
composite gear but only for Chevrolets & sb Ford, I don't know if you have a  
BB or SB.
A bronze gear will wear out on a steel cam unless your not driving an oil  
pump (i.e. dry sump), thats what it's designed to do.
The Crane gear sells for around $60.
