<div>Before pulling the tunnel cover I would check for positive operation of the relay-on the bulkhead for BJ8-it should give an audible click-if it vibrates replace it.</div>

<div>If relay is OK, now is the time to lift the tunnel cover. Soleniod should have a loud snap when engaged-does it feel hot? 1.6A draw normal 18A+ replace. While there be sure to check oil level. Low oil will make the unit inoperable.</div>

<div>Pressure of 400  on the later Overdrives is marginal. I would have hoped for more (450-500). It often depends on if you are using steel piston rings or rubber O-rings and if both acculumator and inner piston were replaced. Remove the operating valve plug, spring and ball and see if oil is present.</div>

<div>Check the operation of the lever from the soleniod. Initally put a 3/16" drill bit in OD lever and hole and set lever on solenoid so that about 1/4" space is below lever at plunger (see service book) that will get it close to correct. The arm can loosen up after repeated shifts.</div>

<div>I've had an intermittent issue with my BJ8 O/D. It doesn't engage </div>
