Love the quick starting , because it draws less electrical draw , it allows more electrical power to the ignition start up . I’ve sense installed 3 more into my Healey friends cars . All good . When I was unable to find anyone to re-build my BJ8 starter, I went with a gear reduction from British Car Specialist (the install was a nightmare as there was less clearance due to the hydraulics and I destroyed the copper line) and I love how fast and easy
it starts. A friend took my original starter to someone in San Jose who replaced the spring for $20. Anyone want to buy an original starter?</div>

<p class="x_MsoNormal"><span style="">Further to that and, slightly on the defensive, I had just rebuilt my Lucas starter motor and was on the verge of refitting it when I thought, “God, this thing weighs a ton and it’s really not that good at its job. So,
maybe swap it for something smaller, lighter and more efficient…?” And then, “the WOSPs etc are shorter so I’ll be able to fit a larger filter onto my SOSO. So, I went to the Dark Side!

<p class="x_MsoNormal"><span style="">I’ve heard it said by people that know about these things that BJ8s with their big HD8s need more life in their starters than, say, my BT7. ie WOSPS might be more necessary(?) in BJ8s.</span></p>

than on AHX12 and that was in the interests of weight reduction. </span></p>
