If the pulsing is rhythmic; say, it pops from 60 to 80 every couple
seconds then settles back it could be a radial fracture in one of
the gears that drives the odometer or speedometer. Cable and adapter
problems typically cause the needle to bounce all over the place.<br>

I use silicone oil for cable and internals--and bicycle gears--as it
attracts less dust.<br>

unit needs to be repaired by one of the gauge people- Nosigener
, Palo Alto Speedo, etc. There is wear in the speedometer that
causes the cable to bounce. I sent mine and had it done for
about $175 and it still bounces a little at low speed, but is
