Now do you have anything about the monster V-belt on the 100? I think that is the belt both Michaels are talking about. This one is really hard to find, massive and often fitted wrongly thus eating up generator bearings. It was made to be mounted on the original truck(lorry) version 6 cylinder engine and carried over when the 4 (2660cc) was cut down and manufactured. I had nothing but pulley problems during my restoration. Would love to have a number for this one. Original belt part number 2H4238 fitting pulleys 1B1057 crank;1B1024 WP and 1B1727 dynamo. FYI AH Spares says this is the belt:

<div>Michael,

<div>I want to save you from falling down the fan belt rabbit hole. A couple of years ago I wrote the attached article for our club magazine. It should help to give you a clear path forward.</div>

<div>Michael, as I recall you are running an alternator on your 100. Has the original 100 generator pulley been fitted to the alternator, as the original alternator pulley would definitely require a totally different belt than would be correct for the 100 pulleys?</div>
