I have never seen the need for a reduction motor. I can only say, the recuction starters fail very often and do not recommend them anymore to my customers. I was able to maintain the solenoid and it's remote starter function. For my 67 BJ-8 . Bolt on , no mods . I left the starter relay bolted to the firewall . No wires going to it . Can’t say enough how much quicker the car starts up. Should have done it years ago.
