I am sure there are pictures in Healey books and brochures, road tests etc. of original engine bays. We are actually enjoying holidays in Scotland, so can't have a look from my side.

As far as I can determine from the responses that I have received the "rimmed" style of cap was most likely the only type that was available during the production period.

It seems fairly certain that the other "rimless" style only became available in later years.
