<p style="margin: 0px;"><span class="Y2IQFc" lang="en">many years of usage. But that depends very much on the type of fuel used. <br />A friend of mine went on a larger tour of Scandinavia with his Jaguar XJ6 a few years ago and <br />filled up with the E10+ fuel that is common there in Sweden. That was fatal for the <br />carburetor membranes and also for the fuel pumps. When trying to restart after the Winter <br />break, nothing worked on the car. Carburetters, starter (choke) carb, fuel piumps, all membranes werebroken and shot.<br /></span></p>

<p style="margin: 0px;">The needle in SU's is not in contact with the jet so if the carbs are set up properly the needles don't wear.</p>
